Indian students stranded in Ukraine 'beaten up' at Poland border

Disturbing accounts by Indian students stranded in Ukraine surfaced on Sunday morning with a Malayali student saying that they were beaten up by Ukrainian forces and were being kept from leaving the country.  Several Indian students, most of them from Kerala, were reportedly attacked at the Ukraine-Poland borders at Shehyni.

According to a video message from a Malayali student, Angel, the Ukraine military and police were beating them up and even driving vehicles towards the students who tried to cross over to Poland. The forces are also allegedly firing in the air.

Many Indians have claimed that these students have been beaten up primarily as India has taken a neutral stance in United Nations. Since India is not talking or taking actions in favor of Ukraine, Ukrainians are attacking Indian students to take an act of revenge on the Ukraine-Poland Border.

After reading this, many of you will think that the same thing happened in the case of China, It has also taken a neutral stance. So let me make you all aware that the same thing, even worse is happening with Chinese students in Ukraine. Seeing their students in such a bad situation, the Chinese Government warns them not to reveal their identity at once when asked. Rather say anything, such as Japanese or Korean, because if they will reveal their nationality, they are more likely to be attacked.

The Chinese government has strictly announced to their students that it is very difficult to evacuate the students for the time being.

"Even I was beaten up by the military personnel and pushed to the road. One of my friends who reacted was also beaten and pushed to the road," said Angel. Students reached the border areas after walking several kilometers in extreme cold, and we were left with little food and water. Even as the Kerala government appealed to the students to move to borders only as per directions of the embassy officials, many students were trying to move on their own as the situation in Ukraine was worsening, the parents said.

Indian students are being rescued via buses to Poland's border, Slovakia's Border, Hungary's Border, and Romania's Border. Indian Government has ensured its student's safety and has assured a safe rescue as soon as possible. Indian Government has also ensured with these country's Border Force for the safe entry to India's Border with the proper facility of foods and other amenities and take them safely to these country's capital.
