Yeti - The New Night King !
On April 30th, it was claimed that for the first time, the Indian Army Mountaineering expedition team sighted the mysterious footprints of mythical beast ‘Yeti', at the Makalu Base Camp in the Himalayas, measuring 32×15 inches close to Makalu Base Camp on April 9, 2019.
Yeti, also known as 'abominable snowman', is more of a small man-like mythical creature that's said to live in the folklore of Nepal. This ape-like creature covered in thick fur, is supposedly taller than an average human and is said to inhabit the Himalayan and Siberian regions of East Asia.
However, most of the people consider Yeti to be a legend, there are those who believe it's a real human-like creature that lives in Nepal and Tibet. The Yeti, generally spelled with a capital Y, has long been part of Tibetan legend and myth, and has existed in Western popular culture since the 19th century, when Himalayan explorers first reported seeing a strange, tall creature.
The creature is generally regarded as a legend since there was lack of evidence of its existence.
The Makalu-Barun National Park, located in Nepal’s Limbuwan Himalayan region, is the world’s only protected area with an elevation gain of more than 26,000 ft enclosing tropical forest as well as snow-capped peaks.
It was further added to the information that this elusive snowman has only been sighted at Makalu-Barun National Park in the past.
Besides all these, the Yeti has regularly been depicted in films, literature, music, and video games.
For instance, In the Bengali film 'Yeti Obhijaan' , there is a prologue of gigantic teeth which, as of Yeti, is a primary plot point.
Moreover, Walt Disney World's attraction, Expedition Everest at Disney's Animal Kingdom, is themed around the folklore of the Yeti and features a 25-foot-tall (7.6 m) audio-animatronic Yeti which appears during the ride.
