Shashi tharoor tweet gaffe - Akhtar corrected.
Shashi Tharoor, the Member of Parliament, Lok sabha also known for his unerring English language skills and vocabulary committed a howler by sharing a tweet. He wrongly quoted a few lines of some other poet believing it to be written by the famous Urdu poet Mirza Ghalib and shared it on his tweeter handle. Not only did his gaffe end here but it turned into an even more embarrassing situation when he wished Mirza Ghalib on his 220th birthday which is false because Mirza Ghalib’s birth date is on 27th of December.
Facts came into notice and Tharoor got corrected by a well-known lyricist of our country, Javed Akhtar. Akhtar tweeted, "Shashi Ji, whoever has given you these lines should never be trusted again. It is obvious that someone had planted these lines in your repertoire to sabotage your literary credibility." Akhtar also came up correcting the thread of the other tweeties who again wrongly quoted lines of some other poet in name of Ghalib.
Sooner when Tharoor realised his blunders, he thanked Akhtar for introducing the facts, he also fixed his errors and apologised stating that he was unaware of the fact and misinformed about the same.
