Blood donor day is observed and celebrated every year on 14 June. the initiative was first held by World Health Organisation (WHO) with the aim to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products for transfusion. This year 2022 the slogan is ''Donating blood is an act of Solidarity. join the effort and save lives. 

In 2004 WHO observed the first world blood donor day and later it was declared annually and is now celebrated globally. donating blood costs nothing but it can save millions of lives. clearly an act of humanity.

The surprising benefit of donating blood -

A free health screening 

Before you are allowed to donate. The whole body will be checked to make sure for enough fit for the procedure. This examination might turn up a condition that needs medical attention. In addition, you will be shielded from infectious diseases you may be uninformed of.

The health screening will also help if you have a rare blood type. This information can be useful if you have surgery or other medical conditions in cases like transfusion may be required. Furthermore, you will have the satisfaction of knowing your donation is particularly needed.
