What is the matter?
A significant legal issue has emerged regarding the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2024. He challenges the decision of the National Testing Agency (NTA) to award grace marks to over 1,500 candidates who took the NEET UG 2024 exam, which is essential for admission to undergraduate medical courses.
Alakh Pandey, the Chief Executive of the EdTech company 'Physics Wala,' has filed a petition in the Supreme Court. Physics Wallah Private Limited, also known as Physics Wallah or PW, is an Indian ed-tech company based in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. It was started by Alakh Pandey in 2016 as a YouTube channel to teach physics for the Joint Entrance Examinations (JEE).
Pandey's petition argues that these grace marks, which range between 70 to 80, were awarded carelessly. He stated that such marks distort the examination fairness and compromise the merit of the candidate and their selection. Alakh Pandey has also appealed a petition to the Supreme Court to establish an expert committee to investigate the NEET UG 2024 examination process and results thoroughly.

A court-recommended model was implemented for approximately 1,560 students, and a panel of academicians has been established to oversee the matter. Pradhan also stated that the government would respect the Court's decision.
