Neeraj Chopra comes from an agricultural background with two sisters. He attended BVN Public School for his schooling and later graduated from Dayanand Anglo-Vedic College in Chandigarh. In 2021, he was pursuing a Bachelor of Arts at Lovely Professional University in Jalandhar, Punjab.
His meteoric rise began at the young age of 13 when he first discovered the javelin throw at Shivaji Stadium in Panipat. Under the guidance of Jaiveer Choudhary, he overcame early challenges excelled in school and college athletics honed his skills, and swiftly rose through the ranks to dominate both national and international arenas.
Chopra's breakthrough moment came at the 2016 IAAF World U20 Championships in Poland, where he set a world record with a throw of 86.48m, announcing himself on the global stage. This victory laid the foundation for a series of remarkable achievements.
