Nightingale of our Nation - Lata Mangeshkar

Lata Mangeshkar, also called as ‘Lata Didi’ from her beloved ones, was born on 28th September, 1929 is an Indian playback singer and music director and considered as one the greatest and most respected playback singers in India. She has appeared in more than 1000 Hindi films. She has earned an amazing name and fame in foreign countries as well.

As we are aware of the increasingly serious covid pandemic situation, she is one of those who was badly affected by this virus and was in a serious condition. She was admitted in Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on January 8 for the treatment. The recent statement about her health shared by a close family friend says, “Lata Didi is showing continuous signs of improvement from before and is under treatment in the ICU from the amazing team of doctors spearheaded by Dr Pratit Samdani. We are looking forward to her speedy healing and coming back home.” Although she is recovering and now thankfully much better, there have been several rumours which are being spread about her health. The statement also cautioned her well-wishers to not believe in rumours.

Update from Dr Pratit Samdani, Breach Candy Hospital, Lata Didi is showing positive signs of improvement from earlier and is under treatment in the ICU. We look forward to and pray for her speedy healing and homecoming.”
