Amir Khan’s movie a remake of Tom Hank’s movie Forrest Gump
Laal Singh Chadda; directed by Advait Chandan is an official remake of the Hollywood movie Forrest Gump which starred Tom Hank in the lead role. The American movie Forest Gump is based on Winston Groom’s 1986 novel of the same name. Laal Singh Chadda stars Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Naga Chaitanya in the lead roles. The movie was known to be released on the 11th of August 2022. Amir Khan revealed that he nearly spends a decade working on this movie; first securing the rights and then putting it together during the pandemic.
The trailer of the movie reveals extended flashbacks sequences in which a young Laal is told to live life on his terms by his mother, played by Mona Singh. This is just one of the several similarities that the Hindi film has with the original, which was based on a novel by Winston Groom.
The trailer introduces the audience to the differently-abled character (Laal) who is made fun of for having a simplistic outlook on life. The movie also depicts the journey that Laal goes on, meeting important historical figures, and running cross-country while bumping into fascinating new characters along the way. Like the original movie, Laal Singh Chadda appears to show the feather as a symbol. the trailer ends with an iconic line “Life is like a box of chocolates”. In the movie, however, Laal’s mother compares life to a “golgappa,” which is a savory snack eaten across the country in different forms.
Amir Khan stated that he had once met Tom Hanks during a meeting with Steven Spielberg. Back in the day, Spielberg was filming a movie along with 'Forrest Gump star Tom Hanks in Germany. Khan then says he is curious to see Hollywood star Tom Hank’s reaction to the Bollywood adaptation of the iconic movie 'Forrest Gump'.
The story set in India unfolds through several historical events as a beautiful journey of love, adventure, hope, and wonder.
